Umbaumöglichkeiten
Der eingebaute Cinch-Anschluss kann bei Epia-M-Boards wahlweise als digitaler Audioausgang (SP/DIF) oder als FBAS-TV-Ausgang genutzt werden. Bei einigen Boards ist diese Wahlmöglichkeit über eine dreipolige Doppelsteckbrücke (Jumper) gegeben. Da hier die äußeren Kontakte das SP/DIF- bzw. FBAS-Signal tragen und lediglich über einen Stecker an den mittleren Kontakt, der mit der Cinch-Buchse verbunden ist, weitergeben, ist es möglich, ein Signal via Steckbrücke an die Board-Cinch-Buchse zu leiten sowie gleichzeitig mit einem zusätzlichen Kabel das jeweils andere Signal über eine extra zu montierende Cinch-Buchse auszugeben.
Die Grafikausgabe in diversen Videoformaten und -standards wird vom VIA-eigenen Chip VT1622 übernommen. Laut Spezifikation kann er neben S-Video und FBAS auch das qualitativ unschlagbare Komponentensignal RGB ausgeben. Das RGB-Signal müsste jedoch direkt am Chip abgegriffen werden, da es auf Epia-M-Boards nirgends ausgeführt wird.
